Terasawa will write, storyboard, and direct the OVA version. Veteran director Osama Dezaki (Bionic Six, Back Jack The Movie, Golgo 13: The Professional) will write, storyboard, and direct the television version with the animators of Magic Bus. The projects will mark the 30th anniversary of Terasawa’s original 1978 Cobra science-fiction pulp manga about a pirate and his female android partner. Dezaki directed the 1982 animated film adaptation and the 1982-1983 animated remake.
